Code of Conduct

In any functional collaborative group, it is absolutely essential to establish clear guidelines. For that purpose, the following items are expressed:

  1. OurForestPlace is to be used only for expressing opinions, sharing information, contributing to forest-related conversations, education and outreach, presenting tools, fostering new thought and dialogue, and building of communities.
  2. theLivingAssessment is to be used only for development of a science based, fact based, cited, open, objective, neutral and professional dynamic compendium of forest-related issues.

Any use that is not consistent with these guidelines is considered inappropriate.

Here is more language that clarifies behavior that would cause administrators to remove content that has been posted by a member:

While OurForestPlace does not discriminate against any views, we reserve the right to delete any comments, posts, or activity that suggest any inappropriate behavior as shown by the examples below, with the understanding that this list is not all-inclusive:

  • Violent, obscene, profane, hateful, racist, bullying, intimidating, or harassing comments
  • Comments that threaten or defame any person or organization
  • Material that constitutes copyright infringement
  • Solicitations, advertisements, or endorsements of any outside product or service
  • Comments that suggest or encourage illegal activity
  • Multiple successive off-topic posts by a single user
  • Repetitive posts copied and pasted by multiple users

Egregious or repeated violations regarding behavior of this nature may result in the deletion of your activity and reporting of your account to site administrators for appropriate action.
