The ecosystem services assessment topic paper is now available on the Living Assessment wiki site. You can access this wiki site from the top bar on the Our Forest Place website. It would be great if everyone can take a look and share your thoughts on what you see. Since it is a wiki, you can also add your own input directly into the document and assist with writing the paper. What additional information can you help provide to make the paper more complete? Are there additional data sources we can use to describe and understand how key ecosystem services are provided by our forests and used by the public? Add your input to the wiki, share it here and bring it to the upcoming Sierra Cascade Dialog on January 25. The more input we can provide, the better our understanding of ecosystem services will be!

Sorry, I forgot to mention that the ecosystem services paper on the wiki is titled, "Chapter 7: Assessing the Benefits People Obtain from the NFS Plan Area".

I'm impressed with Living Assessment. Thanks for access to review the chapters.

It was fantastic to have the opportunity to talk with everyone about ecosystem services at the Sierra Cascades Dialog today.  I heard many interesting perspectives and a lot of great ideas on how we can approach writing the bioregional and forest level assessments of these services.  Please join the ecosystem services group here on Our Forest Place and share your thoughts on ecosystem services.  Also, join in the ongoing effort on the Living Assessment and add your input directly into the Chapter 7 wiki topic paper.  I heard many ideas on methodologies, data and references that I think would add greatly to the paper.  Start populating the paper with this input and I am sure you will help to generate many more great ideas from the group.  Cheers!
